Guest XR09 Guests Posted 03/06/10 05:07 AM Share Posted 03/06/10 05:07 AM Wish that it would make a diff. But we know it wont. Wait till the affects of raising the price of cigs starts to work, people will give up and then they "the gov" don't get the expected revenue from them. Then they will go after your beer, probably just before xmas. And still there will be more hidden cameras and more cameras installed. It's just too easy a revenue for them. Is there a camera in any real black spot?

But all my attention is now diverted from observing the road and its users and avoiding any danger to look out for fixed and mobile cameras. And its very frustrating. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 03/06/10 11:59 AM Share Posted 03/06/10 11:59 AM Just plain ridiculous. Then everyone drives around on cruise control paying even less attention to what they are doing. Time to open a panelbeating shop.Thank god we are back wards up here. Although I have noticed we are starting to keep the bent bananas. And it's not just speed cameras. It's all government departments trying to gain more profit. I have had Gov contracts for years and now to renew I have to tender less for them now than what I did five years ago and they have grown by 30% I am seeing poor guys who have been contracting for gov's for ten, twenty and more years just walking away or losing their contracts. It's a bloody joke and it's on us.

Sorry mate but you got it all wrong, if you stick to the speed limit (or even better if you sit 5-10% under) you are guaranteed not to die. Don't you ever pay attention to the advertising? Never knew there was one for leaving it unlocked. Obviously there is. Maybe its a good law, maybe bad, but the *beep* that enforce it are idiots I'm afraid. And the dumb sh!ts that get there cars knoced off for leaving them unsecured are the bigger idiots.Petrol stations come to mind.I.B.

Don't you ever pay attention to the advertising? please tell us that you have never gone 5 - 10 kp/h over the limit, ever? That you never sneeze while you drive or nothing catches your eye for a second here and there. And I will believe you. Or may be:if you drive an old bucket, you car is probably is not even capable of going over 60. Friend of mine has got an old Landcruiser. I drove it once, and let me tell you, this car should not be driven at all, at any speeds. Its just not safe even at 30 km'h. Its a sh*t box. Takes 10 min to get to 60, if you wanna break, you should allow 200 mtr and handling: ohh my god. So my point here is: some cars are safer at higher speeds than others at low, and don't believe everything they say on TV. They just feed you what is in their interest. Of course 55 is safer than 60, but 50 is even safer than 55 and then you have 40. Lets ALL just start walking.

Donating Members 15,637 Member For: 17y 6m 2d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 05/06/10 10:46 AM Share Posted 05/06/10 10:46 AM Me and a few mates partook in this debate the other night, we got it down to if it was $1000+ for 10 kays over you would instantly get rid of speeding overnight in victoria. Then there would be no revenew from speeding cameras and so on so forth. But there would be no more speedin motorists in victoria, if that really matters.
