In the last month at 1 intersection locally they have installed not one but 2 speed / red cameras and it looks like 3rd and 4th going in at the same intersection. The argument could be that there has been a few accidents people coming off the freeway onto heatherton rd. How about looking at the design of the intersection first. These cameras will just cause more accidents. I would love to see if accidents have been reduced at intersections with cameras installed.

Bloody joke.

It is a joke. They go nuts with all these cameras. Bloody bastards.

Here is what I spotted yesterday on Williamstown Rd in Port Melbourne. It was a speed camera on a tripod, that can be hooked to a towbar. Today it was gone, so I'm not sure what's the deal with these fixed mobile cameras.

Smells like revolution and I reckon people will start to destroy this things.

A lot of people are furious over whats going on with these cameras but our government can't stop bending us over again and again and again.

Speed cameras 'cause erratic driving'

6 August 2010

As many as 81 per cent of drivers said they looked at their speedometers rather than the road when a camera came into view, the poll by insurance company LV= revealed.

And 5 per cent admitted to braking suddenly when in sight of speed camerlvas, risking rear-end shunts.

The poll, of 1,532 drivers, also showed that 31 per cent had witnessed an accident or a near-miss as a result of drivers' erratic behaviour when faced with a camera.

Almost half of those surveyed reckoned cameras diverted attention away from other areas of their driving, while 11 per cent believed cameras actually increased the risk of an accident.

Also, 46 per cent reckoned they existed only as a revenue raiser for the Government.

I agree, everytime I see a speed camera I slow down, regardless of my traveling speed, cause we all know that these happy cameras are not that accurate. They are there only to suck out our damn hard earned dollars.
