I'm pretty sure without gaskets and oil and sh*t you can get a complete FG F6 short motor for $2600 delivered. that's what ford here in emerald charged me in the end. Add to that gaskets, oil, filters, and a few broken bits when you do the motor I'd budget $4000, seriously.

I think I added everything I had problems with to my thread that I linked at the start of this thread. Keep us posted and if ya get into trouble fitting it feel free to gimme a call, I can pm ya my number I need be.

Good Luck, and let the fun begin! :innocent:

Phantom- The thought did cross my mind, imagine that. john: "um it wont start and the front end looks higher" me: "oh yeah bout that, while you were away......" hahaha

Mattyb- Ford up here quoted me $2800 delivered for the complete short then I've got to add a couple of hundred for gaskets, stud bolts, oil fiters etc. I think its the better option to get the car running again. and then I've got the BA block to play with providing theres no internal damage.

Boost69- I knew they had fordged internals but didnt know the where mahle and argos. ya learn something everyday.

The FG F6 bottom end with the MAHLE pistons and ARGO rods is a big improvement from the BA/BF series...Ive heard that these motors are producing some big power with relatively little effort...

Are you sure about this, I know they use a forged piston, but thought they had the same rods as the BF2's and onwards. Where did you get this info? If it's true MORE BOOST HERE I COME lol

hang on, are you just gonna wack this bottom end on your head? 9/10 times the head gets damaged when the motor blows....just make sure your head is all good to put back on and be used on this new bottom end.

I put a fair bit of research into the FG F6 short motor b4 I bought one, pistons are forged, but couldn't get any info on the rods.

Cheers.

the head has already been inspected and so far there is no damage. there was a leak down test done and that came back fine, oil pressure was fine too and the engine is still running perfect except for the ticking. I wont be just chucking the head on and off we go. everything will be double checked before anything happens.

as for the FG bottom end I have been told that the xr6T got the forged pistons and same rods as the BFII and the F6 FG has forged rods and pistons I dont know if this is correct or not.
