Hey

so I have had my car all of 3 weeks 50k's 08 MKII BF completly stock ex telstra car

took of from the lights last night foot planted and got about 5-10metres whole car shakes, feels like axle tramping, loud noise from box, sound of metal hitting the ground, no gears nothing at a standstill, push it over to the side of the road and put it into park and it grinds in

found a metal plate on the ground from near where I took off about 90mm - 140mm roughly seems like it came from drivers side of box at the frontish. hard to see..

what could be the problem?

its going to ford monday under warranty.

Jeez that's not good. I am paranoid that my car will pop something after warranty ends in a month.

You should be ok. It's stock and you've had it 3 weeks! Straight back to the dealer.

The tailshaft itself won't really drop much oil or fluid, however if it pulls the yoke out of the gearbox or diff, then you could exxpect to see some oil out of that area.

Regardless if the car is stock then it will be covered under warranty unless the damage was caused because you were trying to mount a curb etc and broke something...(unlikely I know but if it was an ex police car this wowuldnt be so unlikely...) Just make sure that if you have had oil leak from the tranny that it is topped up...
