Is the option the same price as the sedans? If it doesn't come with an amp (and I suspect it does not) does anyone know if the outputs from the ICC are still there? Would like to connect a processor directly to the unit if its possible.

I realise they wouldn't have lineouts but surely they would have a loom that plugs from the ICC to the amp in the F6 Sedan? If so is the ICC the premium ICC the same between the Ute and Sedan? You need an amp that can use a high level signal input from the OEM speaker outputs. I would suggest the JL Audio Slash series of amplifiers as they have differential balanced inputs (not tied to ground) and therefore avoid any whine or ground loop interference. You can also use a speaker to line level converter, commonly referred to as a LOC, or else you can use a processor like a bitone. All of these options have their pro's and con's, I personally went with the first option and it has exceeded my initial (quite low) expectations. Load on the OEM system is important to keep the S/N ratio at an acceptable level, when I was running 2 amp's there was significant noise, but running 3 has reduced this dramatically. I have cascaded the amps filters like so:Speaker level line out >>> Sub amp line in [Through amplifier crossover] >>> Sub amp line out >>> Midbass amp line in [Through amplifier crossover] >>> Midbass amp line out >>> Midrange and tweeter amp line in [Through their respective crossovers]. This may seem unnecessarily complex but does sound rather nice after careful tuning of the crossovers and gain setting. Edited 01/02/11 05:59 AM by RHR No need to quote above post.
