I came across these trans cooler + fan kit and was wondering if anyone had seen them or used them before?

Here is the sales blurb and info:

Procomp remote fluid coolers combine a high-capacity oil-cooler core with a Tornado 10-inch electric fan for maximum cooling in any environment.

This superior combination will give you the peace of mind of knowing that your fluids will be at their prime operating temperatures.

These coolers feature a core with 1/2 in. copper tubes and 3/4 in. aluminum fins with plastic edge-guard protectors, all with a durable black powdercoat finish.

Each fan is solidly mounted to the cooler core with clear-anodized billet-aluminum brackets to ensure a stable attachment.

Coolers come in 8- or 16-pass models, with your choice of AN-type inlets and outlets.

You can make these coolers even better with the fan thermostats and installation kits that are sold separately.

My question is where could I mount one of these at the front of the car with a big cooler in place taking up 90% of the real-estate and also a battery behind the driver fog light? I am thinking the fan might be a good idea considering I have SFA room and my only other option is to put one of them thin trans coolers on the AC condenser, however I am skeptical if it will get enough air to actually do its job.

Thoughts?

I don't know about this unit, but I do know about having limited space to fit a Transmission Cooler!

I have a Mal Wood Cooler for my Six Speed Manual, with an off/on Switch on the Centre Console.

It is mounted under the Passenger side Floor at an angle down, giving it full frontal Air flow!

- It has Ducting protecting it and a 'special' setup at the rear of the Ducting that causes it to 'suck' the Air through the Ducting, rather than rely on random Air flow- It doesn't need a Fan!

I had the Ducting done in Sydney and have sent Photo's of the setup to Mal Wood!

If you contact him, I have no doubt he can send you the Photos and get you an identical setup at an affordable price!

I drive the Car every Day and take it to the Track/Circuit at an average of 2-3 Track Days/Month.

- It works!

GOLDIE, got any photos of where yours is mounted?

Rosie, this cooler with fan is actually pretty cheap when compared to other off the shelf kits.

If I can avoid it I'd really like to not wedge an oil cooler between the intercooler and AC condenser.

Cheers

$1000 to supply and fit a $100 oil cooler :stirthepot:

When I got the car on the hoist the next time I'll look at what other option I have, being a ute I could fit it under the tray somewhere but it would not be as effective as having it as the front of the car.
