No... I meant get a 4 speed in a BA and get it strengthened...

ZFs are expensive in terms of servicing and strengthening. They start to flare at 370-380rwkw... And a service with replacement oil is like $600...

They are very nice boxes, but expensive...

First thing is first, an xr6t will sh*t all over an SS anyday. I was in the same situation this time last year. I looked at a couple of SS bommodores as I was a one eyed Expensive Daewoo man. I seen the light when I went for a spin in a mates slightly worked xr6t, then decided to test one for myself and I've never looked back. Now I'm running 310rwkw in a BA mkII 6sp manual and I've crapped over heaps of holdens. Oh btw what kinda words would you expect of a Expensive Daewoo on a ford site lol.

As for your budget and what to get. If you're going with an auto, I would say go for a BF preferbly 06/06 with a phoon motor in it but a MKI BF is still good with the ZF6 in it. I know I personally would get a BF if I got an auto.

As for mods, you can push out a good GM smashin power with minimal cash. Typhoon airbox, panel filter, injectors, F6 cooler and a tune will see high 200 - 300rwkw. That should keep you at bay for a while and the options are limitless.

As for looks, the BF has different taillights and a different shaped front bar, which in my opinion is better looking (and this is not biased as I own a BA) but I think it looks better.

Good luck picking one and for god sake dont get a Expensive Daewoo :)

Thanks lozza. I will get a auto and want a BF but it all comes to to funds , if I can only afford a ba auto is it really a huge mistake getting a ba with the 4spd auto? a accident waiting to happen in regards to problems with the quality of it?

Thanks bud

Yeh that's what it always comes down to unfortunatly, funds funds funds :(

As for the BA 4sp, its not a huge mistake, its not even a bad mistake as the 4sp box is still fairly strong up to about 300rwkw. Its definatly a sh*t tin lot stronger than the 5sp T5 manual box. Its only really a hand grenade when you start getting mid range 300's or more. Dont think its a sh*t box by any means, just if funds permit, get a BF :)
