*Hi*, you got xover with bassbox, or just bassbox?

We got both here with a heap of other crap if you even need anything else to run sims with. Let me know...

I havent done an update from harris for awhile... dont even remember the last driver list I loaded into it...

I have Bassbox 5.1 and 6..

I haven't updated mine in ages....

wouldnt it be better finding/using a 2 channel amp as its overpowered for my sub?

A mono Block will give you more power.. And that is exactly what you need... The sub is like you engine. You can overpower it as long as the box is correctly designed and sealed with a good tune done by someone who knows what they are doing.... In all honesty it is very easy...

Don't skimp on the amp and associated accessories ( Power supplies and a capacitator). Look for a amp that will give you a large output 1000rms plus at either 4 or 1 ohm... It took me 2 minutes to find those amps on ebay... Search for and stick to the better known brands.. Happy hunting..

*Beep*,

are you planning on trying to build the box and install this urself?

No offence, however im starting to sense and therefore worry a little about all of this.

Mate, best to just take the driver your car, keys, and a credit card to a reputible installer and leave it there for a few hours...

box is already built for it and ported. The seller told me its a tuned box. Tim @ Sew audio Interiors in cranbourne has it now carpeting it and said its fine. Told me to sign up to caraudioaustralia which I have and ask there for advice on an amp as heaps of people sell em there so that's what ive done.

Yep best website for car audio info. Have bought stuff from there before with no problems.

Dont worry about a cap either, generally only good for AC ripple and cutting down some noise in the system, suitable cabling, earths and healthy battery will do all this for you.

Only good for AC ripple and cutting down on noise???? HA HA HA... They most certainly have nothing to do with cutting down on noise... He wants to run a huge amp..... So A capacitator will be cruical to maintaining a constant voltage down the rear of the car. The current draw on such an amp will anwhere up to 120 amps.. That's what my old Alpine M1000 used to hit running 2 x Jbl Gti 10's.... I am siding with Smicky.... I think that I will just keep outof itt.... Good luck *Beep*. Make sure that you get a few opinions as there is always so differnt ideas of what is deemed to be correct..

Chasing big bang... needs big bags of powder (gun powder), or in the case - big blocks of power...

Caps are not needed in 'all' cases... but such do more then just cut out 'noise'... there is cheaper ways to first make noise levels low, before thinking of a cap... but big bang - cap could be worth the bang...

Cap's are what? A cap is just like a battery that charges and discharges very very very quickly... So imagine a car sitting at a set of lights - when u see the headlights at night dim with each thump of bass, well one would guess the system is far to big for the amount of power its drawing...

Lots of things will help fix this - firstly try a cap... why? well like I said it is in a sence a second battery... which will allow the amp to draw power quicker, and with less loss - kinda like a bigger fuel pump or surge tank...

You can always try to do the install without and see how you go... then even just try to add one for the sake of seeing the difference ... at the end of the day... as they say... Suck it and see!

Down side to using a cap - it actually adds extra drain to you cars system... so in a sence it may be of very little help... just depends how the sytems is set up and most of all how much the amp/sub and the rest of the system is asking for...

Possible 2nd solution is add a 2nd battery. Deep cycle, and isolator... But I dont recommend you try this urself if your unsure... (again no offence, but a lot of questions are being asking, which is good... we dont learn if we dont ask... but somethings are better just left to those that already know... I would hate you to blow something up or hurt urself...) This will give another option the supply issues for a big power hungery system...

I think ill remain a watcher from here on in on this one, or at least try to...
