so on the cutting side of things, has anyone gotten in trouble trying to get their car through a roadworthy inspection after a/. bashing the living s**t out of the troublesome bar or b/. cutting it out...

also I noticed there was a hdi mention in the sponsers section. anyone from hdi frequent this site?

by the way. hi dillz, come on in and share some advice to the situations listed thus far, we can always use more input.

sorry mate I have had a few busy days.

I used vice grips. Just put your back into it and it will slowly bend. Just take your time because there is not a lot of surface on the tool so you want to make sure it is bent evenly.

done and road tested! thank god! what a day, the mrs' bday dinner and a sleep in.

oh so yeah the bend...mmm nah spoke to a few people and the general consensus was " JUST CUT THE DAMN THING! " so I did.all be it with a hack saw but it made the cut neater, not easy though-recommend any other d.I.y.ers get a jigsaw or a compressor if like me you have a perfectly good blue point die grinder but are left at 9.30 in the morning with your slippers on and your coffee in one hand and stupid look on your face wondering how it is that you are actually plug that pneumatic die grinder in to the power point because even the extenion lead doesnt want to play the game!

but road test went well...all bar the headlight refit which everyone that came round wanted to do...the comment I got was... " why is your headlight loose? " usually being tightened by their fingers whilst being said! :beerchug: :biggun: just bloody well leave it! its being taken off again soon! well I gave up didnt I! so I let the mrs put it back on...which she did beautifully but in my wisdom I didnt realise the blinker wasnt plugged back in till I indicated to go the roundabout!!! :dontknow:

oh well jobs done now, cooler is painted black, piping to be painted black, and plan to trim the bashplate and chuck her back on I think.

thank you so very much for your help and assistance everyone, made the job so much more enjoyable, spread it out and took my time and am HHUUGGEELLYY impressed with the slow dose you get from it. I have the k&n pod in the factory air box at the moment as I have given the mrs the k&n panel and have swapped her my airbox for hers, she scored the box with no base which gives a good chatter as she runs no bov, and I went and cut the front out of hers and half the factory cait pipe so it acts as more of a director of air rather than an engine air scoop.photos to follow, has been a late night and the phone doesnt take a good photo at the best of times.

so ill be back tomorrow hopefully with some photos.
