Ford first fitted them to the BF II XR6T - correct? A couple of questions:1: Can you direct me to source that documents this engine update? A web site (Go Auto etc) or a Wheels or Motor mag issue would be nice.2: Why did Ford make the change? Were earlier standard XR6T engines with standard internals letting go? Were earlier (customer modified) XR6T engines with standard internals letting go? Was it merely a preventative action on Ford's part?ThanksPAH Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/67858-fg-xr6t-typhoon-internals/ Share on other sites

I'd previously been told that the update to stronger rods happened with the BFII.I expected to see a motoring report or two in Wheels / Motor / online articles but have not been able to find a single reference. I guess it's hard to argue with Ford Part No's?PAH Edited 02/05/10 09:20 AM by revheadrobbo No need to quote above post Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/67858-fg-xr6t-typhoon-internals/#findComment-1004506 Share on other sites

Aka the post 06/06 engine? Maybe the FG F6 has bigger again.
