Posted 30/04/10 10:40 PM Share Posted 30/04/10 10:40 PM do you really want to know the cons? you have already bought the thing.....as for pros well better battery and alternator and ofcourse alot cheaper but Im sure you worked that second part out already.if it was mine I would get it fully checked out by a reputable ford tuner who would go over it with a fine tooth comb:) Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/67855-purchasing-an-ex-police-chaser/#findComment-1004390 Share on other sites

Posted 01/05/10 12:58 AM Share Posted 01/05/10 12:58 AM You might want to check the brake rotors too....HWP are notoriously hard on their brakes although the Brembos handle it better than most. Otherwise, as ravenhard said, get your tuner to give it the once over and barring anything serious, you should be one happy camper.... Best not to ask I say, if anything the fact it's an F6 probably didn't help too much as anything new was always a novelty. Moose Member 185 Member For: 17y 1m 29d Gender: Male Location: Ipswich, QLD Posted 07/05/10 05:46 AM Share Posted 07/05/10 05:46 AM Mines an ex-police car, but it was one of the Highway Pursuit cars with all the banners and pretty lights. My only con's after getting the car was that (and it took me a bit to notice) there was no side 'F6 Typhoon' badges on my rear doors. Pro's, the service manual showed that on each service, more was done than necessary and the brakes were relatively fresh (10,000k old) when I got the car.I got it at 44,000k's, it now has 104,000k's and still going strong - nothing damaged, nothing that needs fixing. The motor has held up well and after a tune next Friday should comfortably make 420-440rwhp daily Oh, one other con, when I removed my front bar for the first time I noticed it had been in a front ender, it had been fixed well but there was fiberglass on the inside. Also the fog-light covers were painted red to match the police stuff, they are now gray and I have a new front bar after another front ender lol.
