Hi guys first post long time reader...

I have been reading alot about first mods how much power etc I will make

my question is on a BFII will a flash tune void warranty

will Fraud be able to tell of flash back to factory?

I have read a few posts, most say since BF's they have been able to tell..

FYI I recently bought an Octane BFII 08 so still have some factory warranty remaining. I bought from a dealer and went with an extended warranty as well which

im starting to wonder if that was a smart choice as I plan on modding..

1. Will flash tune on BFII void warranty if flashed back to stock?

2. Your Experience with warranty claims on a Flashed BF?

Thanks...

I will get some pics of my car up soon

Depends on how well you get along with your dealer.

Yes they can tell if the ECU has been reprogrammed and flashed back to standard by the number of changes logged in the ECU. Ford keeps track of how many times they reprogram a car, and if their records don't match what the ECu says then they can assume that it has been tampered with.

and if they know what to look for they can tell by what the ids unit they use tells them in the data logger section.

I know this as I do it all the time at the ford dealer I work at.

so say I get it flashed and dont get it serviced at ford and were only to go to ford for a warranty claim. And I flashed it back then? Would that be ok?

Do you think it would affect the extended warranty. It is through an insurance company I dont think I have to go to ford for that so my understanding would be that it wouldnt.

the extended warranty depends on the policy wording if it says only as the car came from ford then same issue if it says it will cover mods than no problem.

as for reflashing back to standard take your luck it can still be checked.

sounds like your going to tune it whatever the replies you get here , not having a go at you mate but the only real solid rule with modifying these cars is if you play you pay .

so if you are happy to cover any damage that may happen if ford won't cover it then go your hardest if you don't have the funds or just don't want to pay for anything that goes wrong with your car then leave it as is until it's out of warrenty.

they are much more fun modded :badabing:

if you're going to mod, then f*ck the extended warranty... it'll be worth sh*t... As people have said, if you play you pay. if you manage to weasle a warranty claim, then best of luck to you. I have extended warranty on my turbo terry, but not because I wanted it... It was basically a condition of sale, and I accepted it for no other reason then 10yrs of ford road side assistance! I get a 10yr warranty (depending on service conditions and mods etc), plus road side assistance, so the road side alone was worth not haggling any further! I doubt they would have budged much on price anyway. Even if I mod, at least road side assistance will till tow me to a repair shop if my mods cause my gearbox to crap itself!

Yep just been looking at the T & C's of the extended warranty any modifications void it..

when I asked the dealer when I was buying the car about the extended warranty if I modded the car would it void it he said no so long as I tell them what I had done..

turns out he was lying... who would have thought a car salesman lying...

I was a little too excited to check the wording when I was buying my car :beerchug:

but I spoke to the insurer and they can refund the money still

so have to choose if I want to knock some money off the finance or throw so money towards mods
