Yeah it sounds like the plugs if you have never touched them.

Mine started playing up at 92000k's and I replaced them and it fixed my problem.

Like F6turbo said, get a custom tune. You say you cant afford one but can you afford a new engine if that goes?

No one mentioned gutted cat + generic tune.

Im shocked. :pooh:

The generic tune is meant for stock cars only and even then its a massive risk.

You have a 3" exhaust with pretty much no cat.

Save up every penny you have and get it tuned. you are lucky you have survived this long.

Alos how are you getting the boost reading? If a gauge where is it connected to?

Sorry to sound like a C**t but I realy dont want to see another thread about a blown engine.

If your car runs fine on standard tune like you said then I would put every cent on the generic tune being the culprit. Its probarbly leaning out at higher revs as you boot it, like mine did with a nizpro intake kit and no tune. I would reccomend a custome tune asap. Prob wouldnt hurt to do the plugs but that's not the main offender here in my opinion.

Im running 310rwkw at 14psi on standard plugs at 120,000 (yeh I know gotta replace them, but I bought the wrong ones the other day lol so I gotta get around to exchanging them) and I dont have any backfiring, misifiring, sputtering or any problems you have mentioned.

Thanks for the advice guys, and yes I know the dangers of runing generic tunes. The place at which I want to get my car tuned at charges $800 for custom tuning.. however have heard great things about them so I wish to get it done there. As I said earlyer, at the first sign of trouble ive flashed it back to standard tune. Will get a custom one soon after changing plugs. Boost is coming from boost gauge. Its reading correctly, as I have noticed a significant power decrease from when it was reading 10psi and now 7-9 depending on how it wants to go.

Thanks for the help,

Andy
