Performance Shops For Fords

Is it just me or does there seem to be more performance places in w.a that seem to specialise in Expensive Daewoo rather than ford?

There seems to be so many places around now that specialise in Expensive Daewoo and do a little ford work then ever before, I used to feel ford drivers get ripped but after a few good friends of mine have been treated badly by local and over east performance ford places, 2 of them have sold their fords and another is thinking of selling his.

With fords copping a bashing all over the place and what seems to be Holden’s getting more and more exposure why is it we are crapping on each other.

My mate has waited over 12 weeks to get some performance parts sent from a place ex east from a member on this site thinking they would be ok, the other waited months to get his car worked on and fixed and both shops were ment to be good reliable ford specialists.

My friends have had their Holden’s fixed up and worked in weeks and at very little cost due to there being so many places around while the so called ford specialists seem only interested in ripping fellow ford people off and making them wait months for their cars to be done.

I personally own a f6 typhoon and it is one of the best cars I have ever owned and will soon be taking the risks of doing performance mods and will say that if I get treated the way my friends have been treated I too will sell my ford and go to another brand.

I know the f6 and xr6t are great cars and are a great performance car but if you are a car nut and love doing up your car you want to be able to do it and enjoy it, not be stuffed around and treated badly or told it can only be done for silly pricing let alone waiting months to get done or have your parts supplied.

Is this common for ford performance places to do this, has anyone else been treated this way by ford people, has anyone else considered selling their cars due to this kind of treatment?

Why is it that these places take your money only to make you wait months for your gear and treat you badly, word of mouth and future work is what will keep them in business, so how do they become good shops if this is how they treat people or is it that ford people have no other option but to have to put up with this due to the lack of performance shops available.

Definitely more places in Perth that deal with Expensive Daewoo stuff but I think there are far more specialist import / subi / evo shops over the Holdens.

Australian's like the sound of a nice V8 and the SS / HSV will always be far more popular than ford range of cars. The XR6T has been the first "Aussie" performance car since the VLT so if turbo car's were more popular, you would expect manufactures to be more on the ball. They just want a car that looks and sounds tough. The Holden's do this well. Just look at our major race series. 2 makes, all V8's etc. May be bloody boring to you or I but the average person wearing a ford / Expensive Daewoo shirt, its great.

I've dealt with places over east that have promised one thing and also delivered ait 2 months late but in general the ford shops over here dont want to rip you off anymore than anyone else. No ones really trying to rip people off but everyone needs to make money and life always gets more expensive

Buf man is right though. WA is full of bogan's who get paid good coin so bucketloads of SS / HSV's on the roads in Perth so simply based on that, there will be more shops and things will be slightly cheaper.

XFT and ##### are the way to go up there. Monsta has the fastest FG around on record atm as of 1-2 weeks ago.

Just to add some comments on this subject.

In my previous life I owned a C4 Corvette which I heavily modified through John Camilleri at Performance Pipes and Prochargers www.performancepipes.com.au I then had the brock shop do the tuning ( Sham Sham ) Sorry guys. However it was the first time I experianced a negative attitude from a tuner. I understand now that the Brock shop has closed down....

However I can highly recommend John at Performance Pipes at Acacia ridge in Brisvagas.

I have owned BA & BF XR6T and now own an FG XR6T Ute and Performance pipes has built and installed dump pipes, high flow cats & exhausts for all of my cars and he is currently building my 4 inch dump, 4 inch 100 cell cat and 3 & half inch single exhaust with megnaflow high flow mufflers and I am getting him to HPC the whole system to reduce drag internally and reduce heat loss externally of the system.

Performance pipes has also serviced and built / installed All the usual mods available for the XR6T's. I recommend him based on experiance, Price and most of all Just a great guy with a 20 year experiance in the modified car industry.

No one in WA comes remotely close to Xtreme Ford Tuning in terms of what you're looking for mate.

Half a dozen odd test cars in the last few years, hundreds of thousands of dollars invested as well as over 700 very happy late model Ford customers who you still see after 5 years speaks for it's self.

While there certainly aren't many ford performance shops, there are a few so rather than just going off what someone says on a forum, go speak to them all and work on building a relationship with the one who you feel the most comfortable with. After all, its your car and your money
