Last weekend my wife and I went down to Tumut for a family do with her rellos... :3gears:

On the way back, we're honking along this country road and a ute going the other way flicks a rock up at us.....bang, right in the middle of the screen...it was a decent sized rock and I'm amazed it didn't break the screen but it left a chip about the size of a 5 cent piece right in my line of vision.

I'm thinking...."Mmmm, one new screen coming right up"....and she says "What about that screen repair deal O'Briens are going on about?"

Ok....so Monday we give em' a go....

Couldn't have been more helpful....it's 120 bucks if you take it to their workshop or for an extra 20 bucks, they'll come to the house.....SOLD! :spoton:

The guy rocks up when he said he was going to....takes a look and says no worries but there will still be a small mark when its done....I say give it a go...

Yes, there is a tiny little mark...but you've got to know where it is and really look for it to see it.

I'm impressed....144 bucks well spent...would recommend this to anybody. :beerchug:

Other good points...if the repair cracks within 12 months, they take the cost of the repair off the price of a new screen....and the guy who came out is an XR6 owner! he wasn't on the forum but soon will be :icon_ford:

Hi Bionic,

Have to agree.

I have use them recently in Bris after I got 2 rocks within 15 mins of each other on the near side of Warwick......grrrrr....wtf?. At least they got the screen and not the paintwork.

Trip finished. Did not wash or wipe the screen, therefore no debris into the chips. Rang them on advertised phone number(call centre) and they relayed me to the nearest branch and listened in to conversation so that there was no c*ckup.

What impressed me most was the professional follow up before the appointment at home. SMS's, emails etc confirming appointment and reminders up to and the day before.

Repair guy turns up at appointed time, courteous etc. Repair charges exactly as described. Can see small marks but this is soon forgotten about and not noticed again. Didn't want to leave it and then have to have the screen pulled out.....nil chance of channel paint damage.

The process seemed well organised and thorough. I would use them again without looking anywhere else.

a new windscreen is only $200 I think id prefer to pay $200 for a new one then $144 for one that has been chiped and repaired.

200 bucks for a new screen supplied and fitted at my house?? :stirthepot: .....who,where???

If it came off the back of a truck, It'd be worse than the old one?

Was going to give this a whirl last time I needed it but the insurance company weren't interested, easier just to replace the entire thing (site unseen). Bloody wasteful but that's the society we live in these days I guess.

I have an Ex Chaser and it has this metal bracket thingy high up on the windscreen more to the passenger side of the screen and it is pi##ing me right off looking at it can this be removed? as it seems to be on good and proper.

And if not if I buy a new windsreen from O Briens will it be the same as factory with the black perferation feature at top around rear view mirror.

I'm quiet fussy and I only want the original gear if I'm going to replace anything on the old girl.

Your thoughts please.

Cheers Mark....Fords Rule :spoton:

Yeah I know how fussy can you be buying an Ex chaser.

But this one was in excellent condition and I had a mechanical engineer friend give it a right going over it before I bought her.
