yeah I figured it'll be around the 2,500 dollar mark. I also got plans on going over 400 and if its pretty reliable with just rods than I'll be going down that path. good luck with everything anywayz, lets us know how you go.

Yeh cheers mate, good luck to you too. I wont be taking this path for awhile yet. Ill prob go with the surge tank/pump and new clutch first up to fix my leaning out and slipping issues and hopefully the current tune will be fine. Then Ill get the valve springs and rods and retune it, see how far we can push it out. Ill be happy with 400 to the dot just for the 400+ bragging rights haha, but anywhere around 420-430 Ill be contempt. See how the standard turbo holds up though I guess.

Oh and forgot to add, I will probarbly invest in some oil pump gears to be on the safe side. I'm getting the clutch, surge tank and bosch pump from chris at rapidsystems, not to mention I already bought guages, pods and an internal pump off him too so getting it all for a decent price so its worth getting the them.

Good work Laurie, glad you're happy with the kit :3gears:

You'd be better off smashing a set of pistons in if you do rods as you need to crack the motor anyways to do it properly. Standard BA pistons have been tested by a few members already & don't seem to like 360+.

By the time you buy rods, pull engine in/out, crack engine, machine block & head, buy new gaskets etc etc it will be well in excess of $4k, so the extra $1500ish for decent pistons might as well go on the wishlist as well so you get the most out of everything!

Yeh it defianatly hasnt passed the mind slash, I am seriously considering them, but I'm just getting different opinons from everyone. I guess its not worth having to pull the block out again if they fail.

Hey kate,

I got the surge tank from chris at rapidsystems (in the site sponser section) but it is actually $1000 + I think around another 100 for a wiring loom.

The spool rods are from a friend so cant really get those. Im unsure of the RRP on them.

The clutch is also from chris priced at 2050 posted to melbourne and I got a quote of 450 to install the clutch from Springy Performance (03 9546 8777)but that was with about another 1500 bucks worth of work and tuning. I think he is about 550 to install a clutch on its own.

I also got the quote for the valve springs from Springy Performance for supply and fit. That price is standalone and not discounted.

Hope this helps, anymore questions feel free to ask.
