Guest XR09 Guests Posted 23/04/10 02:27 AM Share Posted 23/04/10 02:27 AM The Storm players must have had an idea. After all they are the ones getting the money. I am sure most clubs do it in some way or another. They have to. Loyalty and honour are gone these days. Just ask your bank.Manly and Parra deserve thier years they lost. Especially Manly as we beat the cheats fair and square.I rang all my Melbourne mates to bag them and they just don't seem to give a hoot. Storm? what storm? is that our soccer team???? So stuff em. I hope they collapse and maybe Norths get a chance again, or Dubbo gets an NRL team. Someone who really wants it and will respect the oppertunity they have. After I fed it to him about ALL NRL being corrupt....if we sign a player for $100000 a year, the player may have it in his contract, that;$50000 of said $100000 contract is paid reaguardless of perfomance, games played etc.Remaining $50k to be distributed as match payment on game day if in team. ($50000 / 26 rounds = $1923.08 per game played)Now each player will be made a payment, in many cases cash, game day or final training if the player is injury free and a definate match day player, as it allows the player freedom. Cheque's need to be cashed and take days to clear, and bank transfers can take a day or 2 to process especially on weekends, public holidays etc. Some players are given untill an hour befor the match to prove fitness, so this is another reason why payment may be made game day.Due to players being paid differently (some may be on $100k a year, and NOT get game day payments, they get their $100k reguardless of a first round injury that rules them out for the season), it's not common knowledge who gets what, and when... Look at all the rep players Manly has... they have to be the next in line to fall lol.I'm a dragons fan and a raiders fan, the raiders are safe (if they are cheating and going this bad they need to be shot pmsl), but I'm also concerened about dragons... they have a pretty expensive line-up, might be some sus dealings there too. Perhaps the other 324000 people who attended Storm games last year would think otherwise about the team moving to Dubbo....Can anyone explain to me why State of Origin is played during the premiership season, taking the best players out of their team to achieve nothing? Off topic I know but it never made sense to me. The teams should build compensation into their contracts for players the NRL steals during Origin. CQ STORM has a nice ring to it, bring smith, slater, cronk and who ever else they can afford (no pun intended) back to QLD Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/67713-melbourne-storm-goooorne/page/4/#findComment-1002793 Share on other sites

They'd be struggling to find a home ground though.State Of Origin is comparable to a reverse grid scenario in motorsport...only effects the best therefore making it fairer for the lower achieving teams (I.e Roosters). Guest XR09 Guests Posted 23/04/10 06:24 AM Share Posted 23/04/10 06:24 AM We at Manly have always been smart enough to pay the officials well so we will be fine. I mean were else would you really want to live in Sydney....if you could. My best mate has sworn all his life if the dragons win he will get a huge dragon tattooed on his back, so I am hoping they will win cause he is a huge sook. As in a huge man and a terrible sook.I'm all for a regional team to take Melbournes place. There will be some great players going at a good price next year. Look at the AFL, look at the numbers each game gets to the grounds. If they were still only playing Victorian teams I can bet you more teams would have died, and there would be lower attendance.More viewers across more states equals more money.
