The crank sensor is magnetic pickup so it shouldnt suffer from heat like older crank angle sensors.

My ba xr6t ute had the same problem did it bout 5 times in 12 months till it wouldnt start at all.

After finding I had no crank signal removed sensor which had a scuff mark & dent on the end caused by the timing chain guide breaking & rubbing on sensor.

Hopefully a one off problem as it was a pita to change chain /guides & sensor.
