To be honest I would mount it off a bracket that you can bolt under the front of the passenger seat mount bolts. That way it is easily accessible and cant be trapped if your boot somehow got smashed shut in a crash.

If you come to the drags tomorrow come see me and I can explain it a bit better.

Yeah, in the cabin where you can get to it quickly is the best option. You can fit one fairly inconspicuously under either the drivers or passengers seat as wiener says. Problem with mounting it in the boot is if the fire is caused by an electrical fault and you have no electricity, you can't get into the boot cos you can't operated the solenoid to pop it.

However, if you are adamant about putting it in the boot, then under the parcel shelf, or on the back of the seats would probably be the ideal place, cos that way you can at least access it through the back seat if you have a boot load of crap.

Cheers,

Ben

I bought a bracket off a guy on Ford Forums, he was charging about $25 posted. made the job easy, it just bolts to the seat rails. I put mine on the passenger side, so you still get into the drivers seat easily, and still reach it if needed.

the extinguisher I got is a 1kg CAMS approved.

only just visible in this pic, I took this to show the position of my tweeters I installed.

Unless some of those mount brackets have improved, there is no way I would trust them to hang on to the extinguisher when the G's of an accident happen. The mount will stay, but the extinguisher will be gone in a nanosecond.

Not much good in putting the fire out if it has totalled your head from coming loose....

The rear parcel shelf in the boot sounds like the ideal place.

anyone know where to get the bracket?? Mine did come with a plastic one. Under driver seat would be good, however I wouldnt mind it to be out of view.
