Do you realise your illegal? 18yr with an XR6T? What's the world coming to, no wonder young drivers are killing themselves weekly by the multiples. Your brother is probably illegal too. I can't believe these insurance companies insure illegal drivers.. Am I missing something here?? How?

I appreciate your concern mate but those laws dont apply in SA. And I think your being a tad narrow minded. I recently lost 2 mates in car accidents and plenty who have had near misses, one crashed his mums captiva. Another mate wrote off his sisters car being silly. It was an old Festiva.

The car doesnt depict the driver. You can kill yourself at 40kmhs, In a Lamborghini as well as a Smart car. Its how a person drives that counts. I personally consider myself a safe driver. I may not have as much experience as older drivers but the only way im going to become experienced is time. And if its in a XR6T so be it, ive seen what car accidents can do and the last thing I want is putting myself and my friends in that situation again.

Cheers

Well said. I'm over the you drive a fast or expensive car, you must be a hoon attitude.

Sure young drivers are prone to taking more risks and if its not on the road, its somewhere else. Its just how it works. Doesn't give anyone the right to label someone based on what car they drive.

And to anyone who thinks their doing eveyone a favour by pointing laws out on forums, just keep our own nose clean and stop looking at what others do.

Cheers for the back up Paulie. I can definitely understand where Martys coming from though. It is fact that at a younger age your risk assessment is far less developed than that of an adult. But im not going to buy a less powerful car because theres more chance of crashing it. Ive only had my car a couple weeks but its sensational to drive and I thoroughly enjoy having it. I think that's the main thing.

Cheers

Insurance companys will insure ANYTHING & ANYONE for a price.

When it comes to making a claim they can turn into right pricks and not pay out if you were not meant to be driving the car.
