just wondering if anyone has some detailed pics of a front mount intercooler install of the plazmaman front mount intercooler kit...

Just want to make sure I get it right before I hack into the front of new 70k terri with a jigsaw.

p.s Yes I have all info from plazmaman but still not detailed enough....

any experiences you can share would be appreciated.....

As with all large intercooler instal jobs, its going to be time consuming if its your first time.

Set aside a full day/weekend and take your time.

Its not rocket science, just start removing front bar, headlights ect. Remove all the factory intake, IC and its piping.

Follow the instructions from Plazmaman for fitting the intercooler, any cutting needed just do it a small part at a time, take your time and dont rush it.

Tidy up any cuts/drill holes and paint them so they don't rust later on.

Once the cooler is mounted start on the piping, usually start at the turbo, fit the silicon joiners and pipes all together, just leave the clamps loose so you can do a final adjust and line up, then tighten... good idea to wet the pipes where they go into the silicon joiners so you can move them around easilly. Avoid getting any grease in the joiners as pipes can work loose over time.

All in all you should be fine, if you get stuck give the boys at Plazmaman a call.

Mate, you won't get any responses of this nature from this forum. It's too busy worried about how their cars/TTs etc look, rather than go.

You would have to be joking right.

Hmmm, my TTG does look rather nice, .................................... and has also managed an 11.8 at 116mph.

No point me commenting on fitment of Plazmaman FMIC as mine is Process West.

All my pipe work was custom made on the car in stainless steel by Xspeed.

Mate any white enamel paint will suit as touchup, as you will not see it behind the bar.

It is only to stop the metal rusting. As for the install, try to hav someone to help you and remember to measure twice, cut once.

Nope, trying to get detailed performance related discussion on TTGs is like getting blood out of a stone.

Probably because not too many people have modified the TTG's.

Mines fairly mild, yet it's the quickest down the Motorplex I've been told.
