Hey guys

I had my flex plate comming loose a few weeks ago and brought the car back and had it fixed... now I was driving today and yet again the car is making the same sound as before  , I will get it towed to the shop again because if I keep driving it the bolt holes can elongate and then the crank will have to come out of my newly blue printed motor.

Is it possible that new bolts need to be used when the plate is fitted? or are there special bolts that can be used? I have been assured that locktite has been used but the bolts are still comming out

in saying this its also possible they have stripped the bolts

has anyone else had or seen the same problem?

was the drive plate replaced last time?

Has the drive plate been strengthened?

Were new bolts used last time?

If it is knocking there is a chance the holes in the driveplate are allready elongated, the good news is they normally don't damage the crank, just plates and bolts

Hey Ratter

The drive plate has never been replaced or strengthened and no new bolts have been used

The guys that did this reused what ever they gould and even the gaskets they had to buy were cheap thin paper ones

do you suggest that I get a strengthened drive plate with new bolts and if so where would I source this? (I dont trust the guys that fitted this originally to source it)

we have seen several flex pltes come loose on these cars after mods have been done.

Everyone we have seen has had the flexplate holes elongated and wear on the bolts, in each case we have fitted a new flexplate that has been strengthened by Nizpro and used new bolts, never seen 1 back twice, we have seen 4 speeds and 6 speeds do it.

Drive plates would be available from an Nizpro alliance member along with new bolts.

Gaskets are not needed or involved in this repair so I don't know if you have mistaken what they said or have spun a line to you.

These parts are in the bellhousing and not internally in the auto

the gasket line was refering to other work they did that tunehouse had to fix up

the only reason y I bring the car back to these guys is because I dont want to pay someone else to fix it

Is the flex saver a standard part or is it something I should get?

Whats a drive plate look like? I thought the flex plate connected straight to the torque converter
