power_slide Hitting the apex Donating Members 596 Member For: 16y 3m 1d Gender: Male Location: Miranda Posted 11/04/10 01:51 AM Share Posted 11/04/10 01:51 AM Hey guys I had my flex plate comming loose a few weeks ago and brought the car back and had it fixed... now I was driving today and yet again the car is making the same sound as before , I will get it towed to the shop again because if I keep driving it the bolt holes can elongate and then the crank will have to come out of my newly blue printed motor.Is it possible that new bolts need to be used when the plate is fitted? or are there special bolts that can be used? I have been assured that locktite has been used but the bolts are still comming outin saying this its also possible they have stripped the boltshas anyone else had or seen the same problem? ratter Member 6,793 Member For: 18y 7m 23d Gender: Male Location: @ my laptop Posted 11/04/10 06:37 AM Share Posted 11/04/10 06:37 AM we have seen several flex pltes come loose on these cars after mods have been done.Everyone we have seen has had the flexplate holes elongated and wear on the bolts, in each case we have fitted a new flexplate that has been strengthened by Nizpro and used new bolts, never seen 1 back twice, we have seen 4 speeds and 6 speeds do it.Drive plates would be available from an Nizpro alliance member along with new bolts.Gaskets are not needed or involved in this repair so I don't know if you have mistaken what they said or have spun a line to you.These parts are in the bellhousing and not internally in the auto Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Next time I am going to get the lock washers done in steel and TIG the lock washers onto the plate.
