Posted 11/04/10 04:12 AM Share Posted 11/04/10 04:12 AM Any intercooler bigger than the stocker would have to be better.... I fitted a Typhoon one to mine because I wanted a factory part that didnt need mods to go straight on.... If you dont want to get too carried away power wise, a Typhoon deal will be fine....but if you want consistent 350+ type power....then you may be better off getting something bigger.... As XR6TCamo has said,it depends on your tune as well....although I fitted mine well before I had it tuned... For the money, provided its in good shape, I'd grab it anyway....you can always on-sell it later if you decide to go bigger..Without knowing what you've already got, and what you are aiming for...its hard to say.. Hope this helps....

Also $350 is to high IMO, you should be looking to pay around $150-$200.

I have seen a couple advertised on here for sub-$200 quite a while ago. I just searched around though and seems most recent ones are going for closer to $300, so without pipes that would prob be spot on.

Hopefully another mate of mine can get onto this guy which he owes my mate a free tune, so I might be able to get them done around the same time and maybe upping the boost a bit. my car is completely stock too, so how much more power would the typhoon inter cooler make on it with say a 10 psi tune if it is safe to run at that psi as a stock car? its a ba 5 speed manual too.Cheers, jesse. I had a typhoon cooler on mine, did sfa if you ask me.the std(or fpv) intercooler design is the problem with the outlet looping back on itself, it does not flow well at all...if you do get the phoon cooler, you dont need a re-tune! it may reject a bit more heat, but its not going to flow any better....if your on a budget look at HDI kit, they work well and you get to upgrade your cold side pipes at the same time... plus they look sexy!
