I changed the instrument cluster in my car and now the oil warning light and chime won't go out.....

Ive added gauges to the car and I know its got plenty of pressure so what can I do to get rid of the light? :beerchug:

Update what??

Everything else works perfectly....tach, speedo other gauges and warning lights... :dontknow:

How come you've got to "update" the thing just for ONE warning light???

If it wasn't for the damn chime....I could just stick a bit of tape over the light and off we'd go..... :beerchug:

When you put the gauges in Reg, did you change the oil pressure sender? Or do you run the sender unit for the gauge on a T-piece with the original low pressure switch?

I seem to remember that when you change from a low series (stock XR) to a high series (FPV/Lux pack) dash, you need to get Ford to update the ECU to the changes.

It was a few years ago, might want to try a search.

Its got a "T" piece deal with both senders in it.....

I tried disconnecting the light sender and it made no difference... :dontknow:

Zap....they are both low series clusters. :dontknow:

There lies the problem, the cluster you want to install is from a BA, it will not function in a BF correctly. BF series cars use a different ABS system compared to the BA's so it will constantly alarm.

Only way to fix it is to get a BF cluster or modify your own.
