It`s weird Danny, I found them so much better than my stock Brembo`s it wasn`t funny.

But I did replace the rotors with DBA 5000`s.

lol, if you want to be completely confused, ask a question on a forum!

Okay! to the Original Poster, there you have it!

They are either the best thing since the discovery of electricity or so bad they wouldn`t come OEM on a Tata Ute.

I`ve never had this symptom, I do pre pump the pedal though when I`m on a hot lap but that shouldn`t have any bearing.

Its got me beat there could such polarising opinion. But that the interweb for you.

Howard told me the 74`s would reduce my front rotor life to about 60,000 klms give or take which is still a little bit better than the OEM Brembo`s.

he told me with the 24`s my DBA 5000`s could last 200,000.

Perhaps its the new rotors only being slotted in my case. I hate drilled rotors, I replaced the front rotor on my XR600 years ago with one made in the State Rail shops out of boiler plate, no holes. With kevlar mix pads it was nothing less then phenomonal.

Stands to reason, no holes means more purchase for the pads on the rotor.

But yeah.. I dunno wtf goes on with the pads in this instance.

Well, based on those rotor life numbers quoted, I should have gone the 74's, and my opinion may have been different.

For a rotor to last 200k, the brake pad cant be too good, as good brakes need friction, and friction = wear..

Guys at the moment I have the Ferodo pads on the front with the 4000 series DBA's

I bought some new DBA 4000 wiper slots for the rear and was looking at a rear pad to compliment. I have the 328mm vented rotors that take the larger pad.

The guy from Racebrakes Sydney told me he had a pad which was a bit better than Bendix Ultimates and less harsh on the disc so I took his advise and opted for what he recommnended. They are called DB1675-RBS2R and its the first time I have bought a non mainstream pad. Has anyone used this type of pad?

Guys I ended up putting Bendix Ultimates front and back and have DBA 4000 Wiper Slot Rotors all round.

I realise they are harsher on the discs and create allot of dust but the brake bight and lack of fade after consecutive hard brake applications from highway speeds is awesome...you feel very confident that the car will pull up...From my experience I dont think you can have the best of both worlds ie...a pad that will not fade and will not create dust or chew your rotor up...I personally think you have to decide whats good for you...if you want pulling up power then be prepared for the dust and rotor wear...that's just my opnion based on experience...
