They seemed really good for ages, then they stopped working as well as they did and I changed the pads because I thought they were getting low. After changing them I can see they still have about half the life left in them, no idea why they stopped working as efficiently. Now running Ferodo DS but these are faaaaaaaaar dustier than the RB pads were. I think I just got a dud set of RB pads last time. Ill be changing back to RB pads when these dusty beasts wear down. As I type I look lovingly at the package that arrived from Howard today. It contains my DBA 4000 rear rotors, RB24 pads and 4 braided lines to complement the DBA 5000s and RB24s I have on the front.RB24s are just awesome in my humble opinion. They work great and produce next to no dust.Howard is a terrific guy who will spend all the time it takes answering any questions you have. He`s a dead set legend.He LOVES Brakes. Full Monty Member 513 Member For: 17y 5m Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 07/04/10 02:28 AM Share Posted 07/04/10 02:28 AM Yep I run RB24's front with my AP calipers and RB 2 peice rotors and rear with standard rotors.They have incredible life...will probably outlast your rotors! even with a hard time, and next to zero dust...Much better than bendix ultimates etc. However not as good under sustained hard braking as the Ferodo enduro 2500's - 3000's, but these are a track specific pad, requiring good rotor / pad temperatures to come into operating range.Howard from Racebrakes in (Minnie St Yarraville) is one of the best guys in the auto industry, awesome to deal with, gives good honest no bullsh*t advice and takes his time to answer all of your questions.definitely recommend. Awsome setup out of the box, done 2 track days on them, and wow, next to no brake fade.Once it was time for replacement, I got new disks (original ford and no I didn't pay the stupid price), and RB24 pads... Brake Fade - Yes, after the first hard brakeBrake Dust - No, they are very clean padBrakes lasting ages - They seem to last much longer then the previousWould I get them again, Never.As soon as I installed them, and broke them in, it felt like I had factory Taxi brakes.. 1 good brake, and then fade!Ive been told there are RB74?? which are more of a race pad, which may be a closer match to what originally comes with the ford brembo setup. Increased braking at cost of pads and disks.But if you want Taxi performance, Go the RB24 pad.. If you want your brembos, or AP's to perform, maybe look at the lights of Bendix Ultimates (Very Dusty, but a hell of a good pad), or even the Ferodo 2500's which was $99 last time I checked for the 4 spot brembo pad.. Yes, I found out the price after I bought the RB24's, and then since found out its apparently the same pad that's re-badged in the brembo pad that ford uses. I not long ago went up a notorious mountain road in my car and drove like mental, I turned around and drove back down and I had consistent brakes all the way, I was amazed.I`ve never had them fade on me and on quite a few occaisons I`ve thought: this it, all over I`m not gonna pull this tank up, but it did.Howard does sell a step up from the RB24, he told me my DBA 5000`s would last only slightly better than the the stock brembo`s and pads which were toasted in 45K.He told me, why not fit the RB24s and then for race days and stupidity fit the tougher pads, after all its as easy as sh!tting in bed with Brembo`s.However, after a few spirited drives I find the RB24`s more than adequate.maybe some are having issues with brake fluid?Also, there is Race Brakes in Sydney that Howard told me is not affliated with him at all, as they were selling crud korean wood fibre pads painted red to mimic his pads. The pedal goes hard, Not spongie..Mate had them also, whole new set of disks, pads, oil... Went for a drive, a week later, he had ordered as set of Endless pads.. dropped them in, and much preferred them.I have no problems with Race Brakes, I just dont think the RB24 was the correct pad for me, Its a street pad yes, but it lacked the performance the original ford brembo setup had in comparison.But, As I said. It could be I'm asking too much of this pad. There is the RB74, which may be more comparable to the factory pad ford use in the brembo setup.
