It costs abit the first time but you should be right after that. you drain as much as you can, fill, drain & refill with short runs between the flush to get as much out as possible. There may be another way but that's what we did for a mate of mine & because I had a 20l drum just lying around. The penrite oil made it do funny things but after the change to transmax z all is well.

My theory is your better off using abit more & making sure its all out & done properly rather than skimping & it costing you an rebuild. Obviously you'll need a drum pump as well but that's nothing major. I think there between 220 - 250 retail I think. Im pretty sure BP reliance are the wholesale agents for them. They then told me they've done 2, yes 2 of these box's since the BF's release Any help would be great as if its not to much stuffin about ill do it myself on a mates hoist. I wouldnt be taking it apart if you dont know what you are doing. If you cant find a 20L drum, 4L from supercheapauto is about $75 I just got two of these. What you can do is take the sump off to get all the fluid out of there, put it back on and fill it up. After 5 mins or so of idling take the sump off again and drain fluid, repeat process until you are satisfied with the colour of the oil. Tranzmax Z is green btw. The first time I did mine I only get 3.5 odd L in there mixed with the old stuff and could feel an improvement immediately.

Guest Slash Guests Posted 23/06/10 11:56 AM Share Posted 23/06/10 11:56 AM Penrite have since said DONT use their oil on ZF 6 speed and the ZF factory oil is average and only just makes the grade on a STD box. Everyone I know now uses Castrol TransmaxZ and swear by it. Use whatever you feel comfortable with as everyone has their own Ideas just like I have mine. Ive seen probably more than 50 ~75 of these box's stripped now and you can pick which oil was used in them just by looking at the wear!!!Greg is the man!Whatever he says in regards to servicing your zf, take it as gospel
