the current places I see speed cameras set up are a joke in most cases we all know it but just like everybody else I bitch and moan about it and do nothing to try and change the rules

if the goverment actually gave a sh*t speed cameras would be in school zones built up areas around the city as well as other heavry traiffic zones same as rbt testing and on busy counrty roads booking idoits trying to over take in places not suited or spending far too long on the wrong side the road

not hidden at the start to an express way or hidden between trees in 100kph zones booking drivers doing 10kph over limit

drivers are never going to take the speed kills campain seriously when every second driver has a speed ticket by being booked in some speed trap set to for no reason besides making money

cheers trev

So what did he actually do? In this day and age you'd think for sure there'd be pics of the road surface showing what he'd left behind. Going by what the retarded media (that like the police obviously cannot differentiate between a burnout, donut, fishtail or what it sounds like was actually a bit of a powerslide) have been saying it seems that nobody actually knows...

The 25-year-old former world champion was booked by police when he spun the wheels of a Mercedes saloon, creating clouds of smoke as he drove away from the Melbourne race track.
  Quote
'Now he's the world's most famous hoon for doing a donut burnout (spinning the wheels) with smoking tyres in his luxury Mercedes on Lakeside Drive Friday night.'
  Quote
he was caught doing burnouts and 'fish-tailing' in a Mercedes road car near the Albert Park circuit.
  Quote
was fined by the Melbourne police for doing burnouts in the streets of Melbourne

But by far the best bit...

He was not to know that three days later the Victoria State Government was due to launch a road safety campaign titled 'Don't be a d***head', aimed at bad driving by young motorists.

Opportunistic government/police force? Surely not :spoton:

Mentioned elsewhere that I got pulled over recently for doing a 'massive burnout' that was seriously no more than a slight amount of tyre noise leaving an intersection, so personal experience and lack of evidence to the contrary tells me it's a gross over-exaggeration.

Australia should be ashamed, the rest of the world is laughing at us yet again.

Of course, as we get into our cars this Easter we need to take road safety seriously, especially on slippery roads. But driving safely means being competent behind the wheel, and paying attention to the road conditions, not making the speedometer your priority.

So true.

The other day, I drove 5 km along a narrow, twisty, hilly road with concrete barriers on both sides - the type of road that 100% eye contact. If the RTA want to INCREASE fatalities on that road, I'd say double demerits is a good start.

The RTA has raised so much revenue and yet none of the major road problems get fixed, nor any other major social problems. WTF is going on with our govt. In Scandanavia, healthcare, education and roads are free and income is higher (despite a 50% tax rate).
