Hi guys, anyone had any experience with mild steel 3" from carline? I was just going to get 5"cat welded in to stock exhaust but have noticed some rattling inside centre muffler and thought stuff it may as well replace the whole catback. I want to go 3" and wanted to get it done close to where I am getting it tuned (CV Performance). Carline is 2k from CV and at $650 for 3" exhaust it is tempting. Only have budget of $800 for exhaust fitted.

you're better off getting a 3.5" system. and if your budget is tight, definately better off getting a second system on here. something with a good name to it aswell. xforce catback are pretty dam cheap these days, around $420 brand new on ebay.

Just get the centre muffler removed and save your money till you can afford a decent mandrel bent 3.5" or twin 2.5" system.

Standard system without centre muffler and a high flow cat added is good for high 200's. If you're chasing over 300rwkw, then you are gonna need more then just a tune and exhaust.

Thanks guys, was really only chasing mid to high 200's as I don't have cashflow to get my box strengthened. I ended up just going with 3" for now as no second handies available around my area. Got car tuned and was happy with result, a reliable 287.5KW. Car made low 300's but was running out of fuel at 314KW so detuned it to be safe. Looks like a fuel pump will be my next upgrade.

The CAT is the restriction, won't get much more by changing anything behind it.

Pretty sure the 3" dump can handle mid 300's, but you will need a good cat and exhaust behind it.

What are you chasing?
