Interior Dash Lights Not Displaying

I've got a FG XR6T that has auto light display. When I use the manual light switch to turn headlights on during daytime, my interior dashlights/dials do not light up. Nightime ok, but when use parkers or full headlights if overcaste during day so others notice me (since my car is Ego in colour). I expect that the interior dials also light up so that I can clearly see them in the darker conditions. 2 dealers have seen car and say it is the feature with auto headlights.

I think this is incorrect. Has anyone else noticed this and/or have a solution ?

:welcome2:

That's definitely by design, if it gets dark enough (I.e. in heavy rain) then they will illuminate.

You're only way around it is to whack a bit of tape or something on the sunload sensor at the front of the dash so your vehicle always thinks it's dark!

The black tape is the best idea if u want them to come on all the time. Ajusting in the ICC makes little difference, mainly good for making the lights come on quicker in tunnels but then they take ages to turn off again. Friggin Camry auto lights feature is better then Falcons. Why cant Ford get something so simple right ? And I am not a Toyota lover.

How have they got it wrong though?

The fact that the dash lights come on regardless of ambient light level in the previous models used to sh*t me to tears...if you want to see the colour icc screen in the middle of the day with your headlights on you have to turn the dimmer all the way up. And even then it's not the best.

IMHO it's one of the many things in the FG they got spoton. :beerchug:

I was actullay referring to the Head Lights. The Dash lights dont faze me, though sometimes its fairly dark and they wont come on for ages.

Either Way I dont give a crap.. I love my FG.. Well company Car but treat it like mine. I am a Expensive Daewoo Boy but find myself seeking out ss Comos and giving them a hiding.. truth be told I could of had a Como SS if I wanted it.

thanks for the

thanks for the advice. I think if I get totally frustrated, I'll slot in some black tape on the sensor.
