I dont understand.. just cause a police officer got done? police officers are normal people when they off duty.. aren't they? I know the whole 'set an example', and drink driving is a serious offence, but can't they just treat her like a normal person and forget where she works? people are so judgmental these days

They swear a an oath which includes their conduct outside of work hours. If she'd f*cked up and copped it, fair enough, but refusing as if she is above and beyond it would have made the boys that pulled her ups jobs so much harder. F*ck her.

^^ probably because we are expected to 'obey' and 'comply' with the officers enforcing the law without question so it should be assumed that they will also obey the same laws as they are effectively representatives of said law.

Exactly. Every copper I know well (a few) thinks they are above the law.. If I came to work, or even drove my work ute over the limit, I'd get the sack instantly and rightly so.

A police officer is never off-duty. The OP's post said she was on-duty and in a marked car on the way to a job. Why would anyone treat someone as a "normal" person in that circumstance, let alone being off-duty?
