Where all to be bent over by these new cameras. Everyone one of us will be screwed. It has nothing to do with road safety and were all letting this happen far to easily. At the same time of there release the fine amounts for all speeding will also go up. What a coincidece. They will serve no real purpose and make all our traffic records go to sh*t. Only last year they introduced the new speeding ranges, increased the fines and points and now 9 months later the new cameras and another rise in the fines.

Vote this government out and ensure the liberals sh!t can this as part of there policy.

Its not the role of the RTA and now private contractors to do the job of the police. It never has been but its definatley cheaper.

I.B.

Surely your views would be anything that stops someone from speeding at anytime is a good thing, Or are you only against this as it may put you and your buddies out of a job.

Any other time you are telling us all people who do 5ks over the limit are criminals and should be locked up, or is that only when you get to go on a power trip and enforce it?

I doubt any speed camera has ever stopped people speeding, they only notify of the offence 6 weeks later.

It will also not put police out of a job if they ceased to operate as real police would be required for enforcement.

I also do not recall IB ever stating that 5km/h over the limit is a bad thing. This is the RTA setting the limits, however I do not think any NSW speed camera is set so low. I am sure they are set to 9km/h, unlike our southern cousins who put up with 2km/h tollerance.

I dont know about putting them out of work but it makes me happy knowing they will no longer be able to sit around doing nothing waiting for somebody to commit a so called crime in front of them instead of getting out and doing some real police work

any retard can sit on the side of the road holding a hair dryer its more like fishing than working if you ask me maybe the force will slim down a bit

ive been seeing a few fattys on the beat of late looks more walking may be in order soon enough ha ha

cheers trev

I reckon they add more distraction to driving - always on the look out for them. Mainly because in VIC the tolerance is, I believe, 3km/h over the speed the limit so it is way too easy to exceed the tolerance if driving on the needle at 60km/h I suspect.

The package, to be announced by the Minister for Transport, David Campbell, this morning, includes a $50 million safety audit of six main highways, $50 million worth of repairs and upgrades to areas with a high level of crashes and an increase in speeding fines of 5 per cent.

I wonder where all that funding comes from? Heaven forbid it comes from motorists breaking the law.

Does it or are you speculating? Regardless it's quite moronic that they are counting on people to break the law to fund necessary expenditure...yet you say it's not revenue raising?

How is that not 'revenue raising' at its finest? Announcing new expenditure in-line with increased fines...counting on people to break the law?
