I own a Dec 2007 build BFII2.5 XR6T ex police car - as such it is factory fitted with what seems like larger front calipers and slotted rotors (I'm not sure if this is the "premium brake upgrade" or the cops got something different).

I will need new brake pads (soon) and possibly rotors (maybe in 6 months) and am trying to work out what sizes I need.

I tried to measure the rotors - its really hard to get an accurate measurement as the tape goes over the hub and adds length - I tried it from behind the rotor and the best I can say is somewhere between 320-330mm. I don't want to take the caliper off to remove the rotor as I'm sure I'll stuff it up somehow and have to bleed the things.

I don't know if this helps but I can see its a PBR caliper and it has "K247-259C7" stamped on top of it. The bottom of the caliper/pad measures 132mm (see crappy paint drawing I did below).

I also measured the thickness. It looks as if factory new thickness is 28.0mm, my verniers show mine are down to 26.4mm. Is this OK?

Can someone please enlighten me - I have read so many threads on this and other forums all with differing info...

I have just done this exact thing on my 07 BFII ex-chaser. The brakes are the same as any other BFII xr6t, as the premium upgrade was only available on the BA. It uses the same brakes on the territory. I used DBA rotors 4000 series slotted (DBA42107SL, & SR), and the front pads are HPX QBE1473. I got them from race brakes in Wetherill Park.

By the way, the rotors I took of the car, last used by the police, where the 4000 series DBAs as well, and were well below the 26mm minimum.

Yeah mines a BF Mark II XR6T ex chaser as well...came with the slotted brakes on the front...and the Bendix Ultimates...So when I had to replace the rotors I got the DBA 4000 Wiper Slots all round and also got the Bendix Ultimates all round...I think if they are good enough for the Highway Patrol and all the heavy brakig they do then it should be good enough for us...

Guys just to let you know mine came with an Optima D75/25 Battery as this is what most Highway Patrol cars use and I have bought a replacement today as I like to keep the car the way I bought it...the cheapest I could find was in SA FOR $287 but asince I live in SY I would have to pay delivery costs etc...of around $40... so I just bought one from a wholesale in Sydney for $345...they run 650 CCA...

G'day

It depends on your build date. Early BFIIs came with a 322mm front with a 328mm vented rear. Later models switched to a 322mm front with a 303mm solid rear. And I thought a later model would be better :(

Regarding the thickness - minimum thickness should be stamped on the disc somewhere - but they look pretty shot. Time for an upgrade maybe?
