Currently measuring, re-measuring & then getting confused LOL

Building a Sub Enclosure for my 2 x Kicker C10a Subs into my FG XR6T's boot and due to the limited space (mainly due to the strut housings on either side) I am having issues to correctly gain the required cubic feet needed.

I have only seen 1 lot of pics on here of a Silver Ltd Edition FG however looking over the pics I have no idea how he has been able create such a small enclosure.

Anyone out there got pics & specs of ANY FG Sedans Sub Enclosure or Advise ?

Are you looking at a sealed enclosure or ported ??? Stuffing a sealed box with dacron will fool the sub into thinking that it is box that is 10% larger.. Have you run the sub specs through bassbox?

2 x Kicker c10a-4ohm.

Sealed Enclsoure, with Heavy Dampening.

I am designing the box through Bassbox Pro v6.

Issue with a multi-angled design is Bassbox Pro v6 doesn't have these in the program and I can't work out exact volume.

It must be a complex design if you cannot calculate the volume yourself?

RECTANGLE:- LENGHT X BREADTH X HEIGHT.

TRIANGLE:- 1/2 BASE X HEIGHT X LENGTH.

CYLINDER:- DIAM SQUARED X 0.79 X LENGHT

D

I have heard of people using foam beads (Bean bag beads)to calculate the volume of some boxes.. Once you have a known quantity. Eg: Filling 1tr Jug with beads and placing it in the box until it is full.. Deducting the remainder... Just an idea...

issue is it can't be a standard box, due to the boot sections.

I was hoping to NOT have it protrude past the wheel well (400mm deep)

the width at the bottom can be 1000mm, width at top can only be 700mm

The back (rear of back seats) would need to be angled, the top would need to be angled also

The front is straight.

We used to make a fron board to fit into the arched rear seat well...Then mount the box to it. I think that what you want could be done by any reputable audio installer... What box size did you come up with? I really need the Thiell specs to have a look on bass box... What rms are you planning on running through them? What amp? What impedence ??

I'll give my old boss (Audio Store) a call and see if he can send me some pics.....

Send me the thiel parameters...

I can only assumetht you have the 05C104 subs?????

Subs = C-10-4a

Amp - Soundstream Ref 300 (2 channel)

Enslosure needs to be 2.5 cubic feet

Dimensions are unknown as the issue with angels.

I was going to make the box, then make a facia side to side, floor to roof.

With failures to accurately create angles to fit the space, I am thinkning of making a false floor (to move the box forward).

Would love to be able to have the enclosure as a secured, but, removable option.

Here's an idea, and one I'll be trying myself.

Use a large plastic garbage bag. One that fits the wheelie bins.

Put it in the boot space and fill it half full of expanding foam. Give it a while and push it into the boot cavity you will be using. Let it set and remove it. Shape it to size and fibregalss over the top. Use a sheet of MDF as the front face for mounting the speakers and presto. Or something along those lines.
