I was looking at the SS induction growler a while ago but I've read a few times it's overpriced. The blue power CAIs do look pretty nice. I had a quick look on ebay, but couldn't find any so I might have to contact XFT and see how much they sell them for.

and the N/A will ALWAYS sound better than the turbo, through the air intake and exhaust!

For an N/A ya best bet is rims and lowering, that will set ya back about 2.5k. Don't waste money on power.

lol at a flash tune on a NA and extractors are a waste of money. you dont go buy an na and then spend thousands of bucks on making more power. that's pointless, the money you spend on making more power is better off buying a turbo car to start with. all you need to do and this is what I did, rims, lowered, tint, stereo and a cat bak only for some noise. then detailed it and it looks a million dollars. enjoy.

Enjoy what you have until you are old enough to own a high powered car. Make it look good, there is nothing wrong with a tough looking cruiser. Like everyone is saying, whatever extra power you get will be minimal for the money spent. Best bet is just to change the diff gears. Probably the mod with the biggest power mod.

I used to tinker with an EA Falcon on my P's, then with an N/A EF. Almost every stock SS would beat it, wasn't worth the money spent. At the time it seemed like it was, but looking back I could have done much better things with the money.

Where to now. Just had flash tuner on my xr6t. Alleged to now be at around 300kw. Already have CAI. Would doing the exhaust first or start looking at BOVs or injectors be the next option. . Tune is at 10 psi. Very impressed for bang for buck.

Probably not posted in the right area Dan,

This is for The N/A XR6's about - not for the turbo's...

Is your tune a generic tune, ie. straight from the box, or did you have the car custom tuned on a dyno? And what car and gearbox? What power do you want, and how much do you want to spend?

Fuel pump, injectors, custom tune and flash box, and a new cat = between $2,500 and $3,500 ish - Can vary a lot. A good 12psi 98 tune will give you about 300rwkw.

Where are you located? Do have a look in the general tech section for some basic mods, or start a new thread in the right area :spoton:

Good luck!
