Now now Ken... I don't know what you are thinking but I was thinking about giving that nice boy and ice cream to lick.....

Methinks your mind is aiming for the dizzy heights of the gutter again.......

*wink*

Update on our proposed meeting place at Kamberra Winery.

I dropped in there today, such lovely people... *hic*... no not driving!

Michael was pretty darned excited when I told him about the motor enthusiasts group (that's us!!) and the planned meet up etc. He was talking about getting the cars up on a hillock on the grass for some great photo opportunities.

And also they are having a big day planned that day that we are welcome to join in on.

It's called the Days of Wine & Roses.

Live Jazz, Winery Tours, Gourmet Food and new release wines in the Cellar Door ~ Free Entry!

There is also an A-La-Carte Lunch in the Meeting Place from 12 noon ~ we need to book for that one coz it's in the restaurant.

He says coffee and cake will be available from 10am. Personally I think after a trip from Sydney, Wagga or even further afield, a nice glass of red or a sip of Chards would really start the day nicely, don't you think???? *pinky extended* Yes please!

We are also more than welcome to use the venue on a regular basis if we wanted to do a regular meet up? Is this an idea?

Personally I think live Jazz, wine tours, gourmet finger food and wine tastings *ahem* sh*t all over a BBQ!

But it is for the crowd to decide.

Either way, they are more than happy to have everyone there to add to the colour and make the day spectacular!!!

And Michael loves the cars BTW!!!

*wink*

Kamberra Winery sounds like a great meeting place, Miss Kitty ... now all we need to know is a time, so we can organise a departure time from Sydney?

Also, if you could post some sort of map with directions for us Sydney-Siders, that would be helpful to.

Please advise ...

Simple directions. As you come into Canberra from Sydney. You will see the winery on the second set of traffic lights, on the right hand side of the road(you will also see Canberra Race course, just behind it). If you miss those lights, then turn right at the next set of lights (the third set of traffic lights into Canberra). Kamberra Winery's is Basically, across the road from EPIC (Location of summernats). Let's just say that when driving into Canberra from Sydney, you can't miss it.

If you were to come from "Melbourne", you'd take a left at the first set of lights you see and then left at the next lights. :) simple.

Kamberra Wine Company,

cnr Northbourne Ave & Flemington Rd,

Lyneham, ACT 2600

Northbourne Ave is the Federal Highway for those coming from Sydney.

For people coming in on the Barton Highway, turn left at the lights at the end and the Kamberra Winery Complex is the first set of lights, you will turn left.

I am going to try to get a map from www.whereis.com.au but everytime I check the url in another window, the map is blank....

As for time.... we don't want you all to have to get out of bed early, but don't want to waste the day either......

you tell me what you think is a good time, and we will work from that.

Don't forget to factor in your return time too, you will want to think about what time you want to get home on a Sunday night, so we have to think about what time the day will finish up.

That is one of the reasons why when I heard about what the winery has going on, I thought it would be a really good day.

We can still bot about and take some decent group photos n stuff.

And if there are people staying over from Saturday night, we can meet up when we get back from Autosalon.

Basically this is a democratic meet.

The people that are doing the most travelling get the most leeway, I think that is fair.

:)

Ok, so thanks for the directions ... sounds pretty simple ... just as well, cause so am I. (visualise VG's avatar  )

I'm happy to leave Mt Annan at ~7:30? Does this suit the other Sydney people? Does this suit the Canberra Mob?

I'm also happy to get home anywhere from 6:00-9:00pm. This could be an individual decision. If people want to bail early that's ok.

What do we think?

Sounds OK to me Ken (from a Canberra perspective), 7.30 start could maybe be a little early for some. It takes roughly 3 hours from Sydney to Canberra, I would think 11.30am is the latest Sydneyites (and other interstaters) would need to rock up in Canberra, so we can have a chat and bit of a BS session before lunch that starts at 12.00.
