Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me which stall converter I should get? 2800 3000 or 3300. I have a work car with around 330 rwkw. My goal is to achive better times at the Calder drags but not to loose the driveability of it.

Also I've heard that some Hi stall converters came in full size and others dont?

Whats your opinion on all this?

Cheers

If you do a search there are several topics covering this. To sum them up though 2800-3000 seems to be the norm on here.

It's a bit of a balancing act, go to big and you loose mph but it will help to get you out of the whole quicker. To small mph don't suffer but your 60ft may. Your tune also comes into play depending how hard boost comes on and all the other variables.

Dave (Blueboost) ran several 9sec passes and from memory he only uses a 3000rpm stally.

I run 3200rpm histall custom made by TCE. Car sounds like its gonna cut sick from just pressing gently on the accel, and sounds tuff, but I obviously dont give it all the time. Car is still driveable. Happy to take u for a spin on the weekend if your around the hwy or if you wanna come past in aspendale. (after this saturday as car still awaiting a headsex tune)

I drove this car to work and back peak hour no problems many many times.

Dont go a dominello. Stick with TCE convertor.

*Beep* have you lost top speed running 3200 or not really?

I've found a guy in dandenong (pro convertors) who is friend of friend type of thing and it seems like he knows about the converters a bit :roflmbo:, but it's left up to me to decide on it's size :sleepystuff: .

What are TCE convertors anyway?

If your shopping around Dandy, pop into Kewish, transmission builders.

They know a thing or two also. Might be worth it for a second opinion.

My 4spd was rebuilt by them and they fitted a 2800

I paid 3200$ for strengthened box, transcooler and histall.

Bayswater Auto's.

Kewish are 3500$ if I recall correctly.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR A TCE CONVERTOR
