Repco Coil Packs

Got mine from ebay and they came with a tax invoice from a Ford dealer with warranty and all for 187.

Fitted Repco coils yesterday and oh what a difference.

He has only recently bought the car with little known about the history. There is a Coby exhaust system from cat back (stainless mufflers), F6 airbox, signs of a Greddy boost guage having been installed at some point (guage is gone but sender is still under the bonnet).

Prior to fitting coils there was no dyno run but in fairness my partners non turbo Subaru Imprezza auto kept along side it in a 0-100 run so it wasnt at all well.

Replaced plugs, coils, tightened all his hose clamps up, tightened exhaust manifold, cleaned TB and boost solenoid and gave it a run.

Suprisingly it reeled off a 274kw run on dynapak hub dyno. AFRs were all well within safe limits and although we have no idea in the world what if any tune it has had poked up it I think he is pretty happy with the result.

Not at all bad for an 04 BA auto with 95xxxkm on the clock. Now I have convinced him that the 6k he had put aside to make it go faster should be spent on handling and stopping. It is a pretty sad sight under there!

Obviously far too soon to comment on reliability of Repco coils but so far so good.

On a side note we seem to have a few less options down here in the land of Kiwi. Many of the EBay sellers offering coils wont ship outside Australia...sadly that runs to more than coils too. With one or two exceptions we are left to the mercy of Ford NZ who seem to have a passion for bending customers over and performing unthinkable acts
