Hi,

I've got a mate at work that owns a BA fairmont. He 'owns' the car through a novated lease which means he needs to clock up about a million k's so he can buy the car cheap at the end of the lease. He hasn't been able to clock up the kays so tried jacking up the rear wheels and run the car in drive to clock up the k's. He said he wasn't able to do it. What do you do when you put a car on the dyno? Do you just need to turn off the traction control? Or do you have to disconnect the ABS as well?

Cheers.

In answer to your question though they usually don't disable anything as it simulates a rolling road. TC usually disables itself though after realising the difference in speed between the front and rear wheels.

Try and talk him out of it though for humanity's sake.

Silly boy!

When he fills up fuel, he just needs to add a few hundred km's to the speedo readout when he tells the guy at the servo how many km's he's done or if he enters it into the machine.

He needs to make sure he enters at least his minimum required km's on or before 31st of March to avoid fringe benefits tax.
