This is a hard subject, You chase you kill innocent people you don't chase and crims take an advantage.

USA way of things is not an answer, people still try to run away because in that moment you probably don't get a chance to think it through rationally. You can not have the same policy for someone who is running away because they have no license and for someone who has just robbed a bank. As the risks they will take would be different.

That fast and furious thing sounds good but I doubt that actually exists.

half the people in highway patrol love a good car chase makes them feel like a big man

I dont care what anybody thinks if the police didnt chase the car the 3 people in the other car would still be alive that's the truth of it and no spin doctor bull crap from the members in the force on here can change that bangcomputer.gif

if theirs nobody on the road and the police want to give chase go for it to any speed as far im concerned I dont see why the police arent allowed to just shoot the driver of the car taking off its a hell of a lot cheaper court wont be needed and less chance of the public being hurt its win win really

im sick to death of reading about this in the paper every few weeks I mean do they try and shoot out the tyres if that's even possible road spikes what ever happened to them hell shoot the car from above from a helicopter as somebody else said I think

cheers trev

Some people will allways run but more will run if they know they just have to drive in a certain manner to stop the police chasing them. It is tragic when people die, but by not chasing we are making the world more dangerous to other road users not safer. If a person is not caught and punished for there crime they will continue to do it and take bigger and bigger risks placing more and more risk on other road users. The Americans have more pursuits because they have a higher population nothing tricky about that. Like I said this is a tragity but the blame rests squarly with the loser that killed himself trying to get away.

That's an unfortunate opinion

I dont care what anybody thinks if the police didnt chase the car the 3 people in the other car would still be alive that's the truth of it and no spin doctor bull crap from the members in the force on here can change that bangcomputer.gif

That is a posibility

Mate if it were only that easy. There is many many fingers in this pie.

Helicopter nice, more taxes not so nice, shoot tyres doesn't actually work (only in movies), road spikes yes, need more Police to chuck em out.

cheers trev

Exactly...if the waste of oxygen driving the car wasn't doing the wrong thing then everyone involved would still be alive. I feel for the poor bastards driving the pursuit vehicle as their lives will never be the same either.

Thankfully he took care of himself in the ordeal, unfortunately the scum took a few with him.

What a tragedy. Again questioning the validity of police chases. With todays technology surely they would be caught after the event, and the penalties far harsher. Difficult issue but an answer needs to be found. What we don't hear of is the ramification on the police for inciting the chase. I'm not saying the cops were at fault, but there must be a better way than getting involved in high speed chases.

Ive never heard of any police inciting a pursuit, next you will blame them for inciting riots. Its there job to chase crooks or are they just suppose to ignore there core duties.

Lets say there chasing crooks that just broke into and stole from your home or even carjacked your misses. You either want them caught or you dont and no matter how distastefull some outcomes may be, the day when all pursuits are canned is the day the crooks will run rampant.

This topic should just be closed now and be done with it.

Sour grapes and jealousy at its best. Perhaps even deep down in side yourself you aspired to be them but just could not get there.

Provided we can discuss the issue as grown-ups there's no need for anything to be censored or closed.

We all have opinions on things...just because someone else's waivers from your own doesn't give you the right to make it personal and go all emo.
