Guest XR09 Guests Posted 21/03/10 07:55 AM Share Posted 21/03/10 07:55 AM No guns dont work on tires and they hurt when they come back at you. But we do have all these fast and furious F16's and 18's. With even faster and more furiouser lol missiles. It would make fantastic footage for the news and give the boys some real time exersises for terrorist training. Win win really. They finaly get to crush a car (with a bomb) and take a parasite off the streets for good.

You will never get rid of some behaviours, however some practices suppress them so that they occur less. To claim not having pursuits would generate better outcomes is pure delusion.Police pursuits like most things these days would be subject to an on the fly risk assessment, lets face it the procedure must be working because this is the first fatal pursuit I've heard of in forever, and I dare speculate its not the first pursuit since 1968 in Australia, so in my books its a pretty good success rate.Give the cops a break, its still in reality just as dangerous as any normal day driving on the roads, plenty of idiots running reds without a pursuit in play and plenty of idiots driving without correct qualifications. Hazard of driving unfortunately. I can provide Victorian crash statistics to anybody that wants them.

You either want them caught or you dont and no matter how distastefull some outcomes may be, the day when all pursuits are canned is the day the crooks will run rampant.I.B.I'm sure most of us wouldn't want the above situation to occur...But I also wouldn't want innocent motorists killed...but its a situation where your damned if you do and damned if you don't....Why was this guy running...I hope he committed a serious offence...and wasn't chased for running a red light or something... Don't think there'd be too many car thieves that would just take their catch for a leisurely drive before returning it.

I feel for the cops too they are just doing their duty and now they have to live with the fact that it could have been their fault/they could have stopped it earlyer
