Tps Unit Replaced

XR6 Turbo MKII 2005

Just changed / replaced my TPS Unit.

Very easy to do. Took X-over unit off and took it from there.

Only one problem. The new screws / bolts are too soft. The head of one came off when screwing it back in. Got it out by using a vice-crip. The original screws are much stronger, so I reused them. :)

The Original Unit can cause problems.

* The older spec Throttle Position Unit has a dimple on the body of the sensor .It ( the Unit ) can cause problems with rough running on start up and when driving.

No good waiting till it plays up, when I am 100's of Km from home.

So you replaced it because it may one day fail?

While you're at it, do the coil packs, turbo, gearbox, conrods, valve springs, plugs, ECU, radiator, water pump, fuel pump, injectors, diff, driveshafts, ABS system, TC, all lights, all dash wiring, ICC, and you'll be safe and sound. :blink:

Im with you seduced :buttrock: The are alot of what if's on our cars...better to wait till its playing up before forking out the dosh..Unless your loaded then it doesn't matter. :beerchug:

The new style TPS units are a upgraded part.... The older ones as mentioned fail on a very regular basis. Had another one in today going into guard mode due to a f*cked tps. There is actually a Ford TSB for them failing on the early BAs.

Just took the car for a run. SUPER HAPPY.

When cold it idles at 1200rpm, when hot at 750rpm. Before I changed the TPS it used to idle when hot at 750rpm but did not hold 750rpm. It was like VVVV.... When I pulled up at a set of traffic lights it used to dip so low it would stop some times. Not any more.

PS And it only cost me $83.95

how and where please, im up for one on my wifes ba. was quoted 230 bux

friggin thing can keep stalling and idling ruff for 230 bux
