Fg Premium Upgrade Question

Hi I have been offered a FG premium upgrade unit, is there anything else that I will need to install it into my FG XR6 or is it a case of plug and play so to speak. The unit has the 6 stack cd dual zone a/c colour screen etc.

If they are anything like a BA/F, you are gonna need the harness to suit and LH rear view mirror.

I'm not certain but will take a stab.

If it's a climate control unit then there is the ambient temp sensor that is part of the l/h wing mirror.

Hmm I thought that's what the small white dome above the dash was? Anyway it has an outside temp display on the existing standard ICC.

Well things are starting to take shape I hope, the new Premium ICC is on the way, my car already has the sensor on the LHS wing mirror and a temp read out on the current mono-crhome screen, all be it, it reads under what the actual temp is by a little bit.

I spoke with one of the guys in the workshop where the car goes to get warrenity isses looked and he told me that he can "unlock" the ICC and convert it over a single zone a/c to match whats currently in my car if I didn't want to go to the trouble of pulling out the entire dash and buying the new fan motor etc to run dual zone a/c.

So now all I need is to find a workshop manual to know how to pull out the existing ICC. Does anyone have a CD copy or are willing & able to scan the appropriate pages?

just forget the dual zone, one of the biggest flogs ever. it really doesnt make much sense. you have one side at 19 and the other at 22, what do ya think happens to the temp in the car, evens out, not possible for it to control one half of the car.

Disagree to be honest...day to day yeah probably, but on longer trips it's pretty good. Saves fighting over the controls.

Any updates on how this went, might be able to get my hands on a single zone colour screen premo what would I have to do to install into my FG XR6 is it just a means of plug and play or have to go to ford and if so how much would that cost.

Most of your perception of temperature comes from the air blowing on you.
