Hey guys how are we?

Im just wondering if anybody has been a manager at hungry jacks before? Ive been offered the job but unsure as to whether it would be right for me. Id imagine from what ive been told that it would be supervising of staff, rostering etc but I dont want to take the position if im still gonna be stuck working behind the front counter or in the kitchen. Im not 14 and never worked in maccas or hungry jacks before, I dont wanna be flipping paddies lol but if it would mainly be a managerial position with now and then helping out on busy days then might think about it

cheers guys

Azid, Get into it man & see what happens.

The worlds best Chefs/Cooks all started with very basic chores you can be sure.

Any kind of management experience can only be a good thing.

You'll learn about timing, people management, basic book-keeping, responsibility, food-place hygine etc as well as how to make a reasonable burger.

IMHO of course.

There's lots of worse things to be doing man.

The biggest issue is the stigma attached. Managerial positions at HJ's and Maccas can be quite rewarding once you get a bit of experience under your belt.

But it does involve getting your hands dirty and stepping in where required

thanks guys appreciate the advice. The way I see it too is that its management experience for the resume. Plus I kind of switch on and really thrive on high pressure situations at work and I enjoy pressure and responsibility. I dont mind stepping in and getting my hands dirty so to speak as far as cooking and such, I just didnt want to downground to a job I want the main part of the job to be management, not cooking and customer service ya know

I know what its like to be a manager at a pub and club cause ive been there, but being a franchise, wasnt sure if the owner would do most of the management type stuff and instore manager basically makes sure it runs fine and dandy

They are all different, some owners are never seen whereas others will be there all day every day.

If you're familiar with the hospitality industry then you should be right. They key thing you'll need is tolerance to a higher level of imbeciles than normal (in terms of green staff with NFI)...I couldn't do it for that reason. :surrenderwave:

Most managers need to know all areas of the front and back of house as you need to be able to tell if it is being done wrong, you will also need to train newbies.

Most of the fast food management positions involve great training and career progression. I have a couple of maccas and KFC managers that work for me and I can see they just get in and do the job. they seem to be less hung up on the crap or distractions. Well done for getting a job offer, I would take it.
