seduced Need more power. Now taking donations. Member 753 Member For: 16y 1m 26d Gender: Male Posted 10/03/10 05:32 AM Share Posted 10/03/10 05:32 AM I heard from a highly respected mechanic who is a site sponser that castrol edge tends to froth in the engine way too much and is causing sludging issues...IMO any oil that needs a prime-time TV ad to sell isnt worth it. I am currently running Penrite fully synthetic, will try nulon etc. But as with any oil, change it often and use the right grade and you should be right.Royal purple is fine if you want hundreds of thousands of kays before a rebuild, but for those who move into new cars every 5 years or so, its just a waste of money. Change it every 10k.Pretty sure its the most common one used by tuners too. Most Mobil, Castrol, Penrite, Nulon, Agip etc oils are good. Just get the right one for your car and change it regularly. Just stay away from cheap and nasty sh*t. I have seen that home brand now sell motor oil.
