Lol,

I could imagine it coming over the top of mount panorama then a couple of minutes later a few falcons and the odd commodore. Pure bliss.

I reckon it can only be a good thing, help get rid of the one-horse race that it's now becoming.

Same same.

Just for something different to look for, Keep an eye on a youngster, Scott McLaughlin in the support Mini race. It will be his first start in something like this & he has come straight from Karts. Now a fully supported drive for SBR in the Fujitsu feeder ranks.

You heard it first here from Claude.

But isnt that the point? They event is put together so there is more then just the racing that's the draw card? Im sure theres more bands out there that can draw as good of a crowd as Chisel.

As a motorsport fan, I was happy with my grandstand seats which saw 200m of track and had a big screen in front.

Unfortunately there are not 80000 seats of the type you talk about, or 80000 people whom wish to pay the premium to see 200m of track and watch the rest on TV. Homebush was a huge mistake, it is a garbage track and not one for spectators to come and watch the race.

I am a motorsport fan as well, but I'll be biggered if next year I'm paying to see 200m of track unless there's a decent band to watch as well.

I used to watch Bathurst all day, nowadays I watch probably an hour of it because it is boring in my opinion.

The only way we will see even racing AND multi brands is by use of restrictors on the inlet to lomit the intake of air, the same as rally and to limit the size of tyres based on the size of the motor. This seemed to work weel in Group A and would allow the makers to chose the models they will put forward for racing.

The best series I have watched in the past few years have been the v8 utes, Mini's and production cars. My favorite has been the production cars as you see BMW's mixing it with HSV/FPV and other road going models.

As with F1 & V8SC & Nascar, the rules have made the cars so similar, it is just a matter of who qualifies first and gets the best start as it is just follow the leader, or punt the leader off under braking to gain position. This is why it is so boring.

As for F1 they used to let the teams use bleeding edge technology to gain the upper hand, like traction control, active suspension and ground effects. As soon as it makes the series to one sided or expensive, they ban the technology. It should just be the back to the old days of the teams with the best R&D won the races. Why limit a top level sport, all you do is take away the inovation and creativity of the engineers.

I actually think the pommy touring car series is pretty good racing to watch, like the V8 Utes but in BMW's and Civics and the like.
