Was chatting to my mate with the E36 and he said that the ford 4l will be a bitch to fit as the BMW uses the slanted motor to fit their motor how would u fit the ford larger motor in if not on a slant???

BMW's have that short nose and th 4L is pretty long, if the engine is too far over the front wheels the handling will go up the sh!t also

Will fit in anything you want. Escort, cortina, capri have all been done, xd/e/f falcons, ive even seen one mid mounted in a ford focus.

That would be scary, and hot! resting your elbow on a turbo. besides the fact it would suck your cloths off.

As good as the 4L I6 is, its dimensions are too awkward too transplant into most cars. You've got a better chance of fitting the LS1 6L into most lightweight cars. On a BMW forum, one guy managed to cram the Corvette motor into a 3 series with space left over (for a supercharger!). There was a youtube video of an early 80's Corolla (back when it was actually RWD) with an old Expensive Daewoo 5.7L in it - now that's got power to weight.

Now for some crazy reason, I have always wanted to transplant ZF-box and F6 T motor into a Mercedes Vito Van - drop, very well lowered, and a good quality suspension - should make for a stunner :)

But, that's just me.
