The last time my car was serviced was at 45,000kms, by ford. I just did the 52,500km oil change myself and was shhocked to see how black and carboned up the oil was only after 7500kms.... It made me wonder if Ford changed the oil at all, it looked very old. What oil does Ford use? I filled it back up with some lovely Fully Syn Penrite and I will be doing all future changes myslef. Ford will not see th

For those who do their own changes, is this normal for even higher quality oils? For those who wait 15,000kms between changes...I'd re-think that strategy...

withstupid.gif I would hazard a guess that your oil was not changed. In terms of the oil Fraud use it will be the cheapest

within spec oil they can source.

I can't say what my oil looks like after a Fraud oil change as this hasn't happened since May 2003.

The Phoon gets only Royal Purple every 7500ks max and it is never black or looking carboned up.

45,000km is a scheduled oil change service according to ford.

I checked my receipt from back then and they certainly charged me for it... The only reason it was serviced by Ford was it was its first one since I had first bought it at 40,000kms and I had some warranty work to get done, from emeory they did change it, I remember checking now... but it must be some low-grade crap to be that black so quickly. I'm sure there will be more turbo failures and sludge problems for those who own 150,000km or more BAs with 15,000 servicing the only love given.

Ford will never see my car again. They did some great warranty work for me though, credit where credit is due, but I will choose what fluids from now on....

I dont know what ford use but I use the synthetic oil mazda use as I have an unlimited supply and id assume it would be the same as ford does own them. I do mine never any later than 7500ks. And never is it dark.
