The bumper was described in the for sale heading as being "Freshly Painted in Phantom" and the words "Freshly Painted" was again reinterated to me via PM.The pictures that were provided in the for sale post were also of a freshly painted bumper but I failed to see a key sentence in the members Ad of- "Bar was painted along with the rest of the Ute as part of the Build 8 months ago but the Ute has only seen 4 months of this time on the road due to further mods so is in new condition"Whether this was due to the heading that stated "Freshly Painted in Phantom" or the members first response to my offer via PM which was "Hi Brett, Make it $550 delivered to **********. What you get is a freshly painted Bar, 2 foggies and the center grill which is also freshly painted. Cheers,****" that made me miss the sentence or take the members WORDS for it?Photos in the members 'for sale' of the freshly painted bumper off the car didn't help either! The item arrived at the address I specified via the seller's mate and not a courier which was mentioned I got for free! When I picked up the bumper the following day I was extremely dissappointed in the 'actual' condition of this bumper.I will post photos below for other to see for themselves of what can happen when one is mislead in to thinking the product they see and are told of is what they get.If this member was truthful of his/her words and updated photos were provided then I would not have bought the bumper in it's current condition. Rules stipulate- "Full description (condition, part number, colour, etc.) and this would mean the "CURRENT" condition not when you bought or painted it last! There is no reason why updated photos should not have been provided as again rules stipulate "ready for sale (I.e. removed from the vehicle in the instance of second-hand parts)" so I believe this members actions were to deliberately mislead myself and any other potential buyer.I fully understand that it is "buy/sell at your own risk" but to lie, decieve or mislead others whatevever the case may be on this forum is not condoned to any extend. This was my error to trust someone untrustworthy simply because he/she is a member but a warning now to others on here when considering purchasing. Read into there fine print, ask if photos are of its current condition or if none are provided ask for them, if they cannot be provided and cannot be seen on-sight by someone then pass the offer up. Video clips of operating parts if necessary, anything that will strengthen your case if the unfortunate event of seeking legal advice or small claims. If you are one of these people that purposely deceive/mislead others on the "actual" condition of the product just to be rid of the items you are selling on this forum then you should piss off, sell your sh*t elsewhere and dont come back. This forum doesn't need con-artists or liars tarnishing the FordXR6Turbo.com name or reputation on these pages. Thanks to this individual I will no longer purchase any further items on these forums which will include group buys as well as purchasing direct from our sponsors because I now sadly cannot trust the members. This has unfortunately left a somewhat sour note on my time here at this forum, which by all accounts I pretty much live on and help out whenever I can with either my limited knowledge or using others to help members.I have bought tonnes of sh*t off the internet in the past, from Car audio aust forums to RC Champ in Hong Kong and have never been screwed, shafted or misslead like I have here on this F@cking forum that I enjoy so much.I see there is a new for sale section (Classified's System) and believe we need more feedback from other members of how the classified's could be improved on so we can weed out these kinds of people amongst us. There is more to this story I would like to post up but due to being threatened with court action by this member I cannot. Thanks,Brett

I too have been burnt in the past, however it was not on this forum. It only takes one uncooth person to ruin your trust. As you stated earlier, it is very important that the advertisement be read correctly. Maybe the forum could look into adding a reputation system. Where memebrs can add reputation points after a smooth transaction has been made... Just a thought... Anyway, good luck with the bar and working it out with the member involved. I think it would be fair that the seller gave you back some of the cash you paid for it. That would be the moral thing to do

I`m on forums based in America and yeah, I`ve seen guys selling items and do the right thing and then ping! they go nutty and burn several members. On one local forum I`m aware of a guy who is an outright thief peddling his ill gotten items there. He was discovered but not before people bought tainted goods or indeed lost stuff. But for sure, feel ya pain mate, bullsh!t blows.Caveat emptor.Something dogdgey I noticed when I was looking to buy my car, I looked on carsales etc.You see this car and omfg its like new? you fall in love with it.. Then, oooh, you look close at the dash pic and the odometer is showing 3 digits and lotsa zeros. The flaking thing is NEW! Old mate shoots a few gigs worth of pics the day he takes delivery and then 50,000 klms later that's the pics he uses in the ads.It became obvious after a while but it still sh!t me. sexual harrassment panda I see a red door and I want to paint it black Donating Members 5,919 Member For: 15y 4m 5d Gender: Male Location: Far north queensland Posted 06/03/10 10:37 PM Share Posted 06/03/10 10:37 PM bjc - I would't tar sponsors with the same brush, I'm sure the administrators would come down harsh on them if anything dodgy did happen. Plus the amount of members on here I'm sure they want to keep in out good books as word of mouth is great free advertising. I've never had anyproblems with any forum sponsors.I spose I've been a bit silly/trusting in the past - I've bought off these forums a full exhaust and an intercooler kit, both without even seeing a pic of the actual item. Both turned up very well packaged and in used but excellent condition. Acouple of grand outlay on my part to guys I've never met.The stuff I've sold on forums I always provide current photos and any more photo's on request. Some people, like me, are a bit to trusting when buying gear. I sold my turbo with about 45,oook's on it and delivered it to the guy personally, I'd never met the guy before in my life and he gives me $1000 in cash and I give him the turbo. He didn't even check it, nothing was wrong with it al all and he's very happy with it but it could of been a horro story for him.Back to your dilemma"Bar was painted along with the rest of the Ute as part of the Build 8 months ago but the Ute has only seen 4 months of this time on the road due to further mods so is in new condition"clearly states "in new condition"did you send him a pm before you posted here? How did he respond?
