Boosted1 Member 346 Member For: 16y 6m 4d Posted 05/03/10 07:14 AM Share Posted 05/03/10 07:14 AM (edited) well I have started to do more mods to my fg ute.I have just ordered a new intercooler from Rapid, bosch ev14 injectors, and a 100cpi cat. this will go along with my xr8 intake and k-n filter. which may change to a custom air box.with these mods I hope to well and truly max out the little turbo and have a very responsive street car. and see what times an fg with the standard turbo can put down the qtr mile at its max.I am told there in no need to do the exhaust as it flows plenty enough for the little turbo. cant wait!!!!would like to thank chris from rapid. he is a top bloke and would recomend his to anyone who is modifying their falcon turboscheers Edited 10/03/10 04:38 AM by revheadrobbo Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/66700-new-mods/ Share on other sites

They've been basically just bursting open with a bit more boost pushed through them...my theory is Ford have intentionally engineered a weakness in there just to be sh*tful! I now have a Plazmaman pipe kit fitted for peace of mind.Running 15psi through them you must have a tune??How much power were you getting with that tune? Boosted1 Member 346 Member For: 16y 6m 4d Posted 07/03/10 07:39 PM Author Share Posted 07/03/10 07:39 PM yeah def a good idea changing the pipe. I think ford have done it as a fail safe, so we dont go to crazy with boost on the standard pipes. they are just way to thin. as for my previous tune. I had 275rwkw. b the tune was for 13.5 si but would spike to 15psi through changes in gears Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/66700-new-mods/#findComment-988800 Share on other sites

Tuner believe's the exhaust is the restriction as the big intake was only good for about 5kw at that stage over the standard intake. We are up North in the tropics.
